The number of identified Delta variant patients in the city climbed to 46 with the reporting of 14 newly detected cases by the Philippine Genome Center last Oct. 10.
The biosurveillance report included four Alpha variant and two Beta variant cases albeit these were belated data dating back to April and May.
The latest report brought the total of new variants of concern (VOC) cases in the city to 209 of which 46 are Delta, 112 are Alpha and 51 Beta.
Link analysis conducted by data analysts of the city’s lead contact tracing team showed a total of 7,210 persons were linked to the patients.
Based on the data provided by data analyst Jefferson Damoslog, nine of the newly identified Delta cases were part of household clusters while three belonged to the business process outsourcing (BPO) cluster.
The two others were part of the health worker and government institution clusters, respectively. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
