Residents around the Dagupan area can expect better access to LandBank’s services with the installation of a 24/7 automatic teller machine (ATM) at the city hall compound which was officially inaugurated on Oct. 25, 2021.
Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero said that this will bring financial services closer to the city’s constituents since financial aid from various national government programs, like 4Ps, are coursed through the bank. He added that he requested the other banks in the city to also install their ATMs in the area and establish a one-stop ATM hub for withdrawals and other financial transactions.
“This has long been our aspiration, so when there was a resolution to install an ATM we immediately looked for an area near the city hall. We also sent letters to different banks in Tabuk City to put up their ATMs here tapnu adda asideg nga pagwithdrawan ti ka-ilian,” he said.
As reported, Councilor Glen Amla, filed a resolution requesting the Mayor to establish an ATM booth in the city hall compound after observing the long queues at the Landbank’s office in Bulanao.
“Ka-kaasi dagiti tao nga pumilpila uray nu permi piman ti pudot ken nu dadduma na ket maabutan da pay iti tudo. Napadaan tao met pumila ket nagrigat karkaro nu senior citizens da ken ada dagiti dadduma awit da pay dagiti babassit nga annak da,” he said.
Odaline Narag, head manager of LandBank-Tabuk Branch, said that the ATM will help decongest the long queues in their onsite ATMs in Bulanao and will better comply with health protocols. She also said that it is Landbank’s thrust to establish touch points in areas with heavy foot traffic to make their services more accessible.
“Wider na yung area na maserbisyohan ng LandBank and ma-decongest yung queue natin doon sa Bulanao. Specially, kailangan mag-comply sa social distancing, so kailangan nating ilapit dito kasi marami tayong kliyente dito sa Dagupan, they don’t need to go to Bulanao and go through the long queue doon sa ATM natin, specially sa mga senior citizens.”
She thanked Mayor Estrañero for providing a free space to establish their ATM booth, adding that they will eventually install a cash deposit machine to decongest transaction at their office.
“Yung design kasi nito pang-atm lang, eventually magkakaroon dito ng cash deposit machine para pwede kang mag-deposit, para ma declog talaga yung pila,” she said.
This the fourth ATM of the bank in the city, with a fifth machine to be installed along the national highway near Southern Central School.
Meanwhile, Amla said that in the Memorandum of Agreement between the city and the bank, the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) will take charge of the security, while the PNP will also patrol the area. By PIO Tabuk Kalinga
