The Local Civil Registry urged residents to help build stronger communities through strong families.

The Local Civil Registrar Luz Perez said that families are the foundation of society and strong families are actually the building blocks of strong communities and strong communities build strong nations.

Further, she claimed that communities with strong family ties experience lower crime rates, increased civic engagement and improved overall wellbeing.

She pointed out that community activities that bring families together such as neighborhood picnics, volunteering in events, or support groups can illustrate how strong families contribute to building a supportive and connected community.

“Our individual and family service efforts do not need to be grand, but even small efforts quickly add to make a real difference.,” she stressed.

Perez explained that numerous studies have shown that individuals who come from supportive and loving families have better mental health, higher self-esteem, and increased overall life satisfaction.

According to her, growing up in a nurturing family can shape their values and beliefs.

She cited as an example the fact that when children witness their parents embodying kindness, empathy, respect towards one another and the world around them, they are most likely the said qualities themselves.

Moreover, she emphasized that a family, the heart of the existence of people, is a precious gift that they should cherish and celebrate as they are the ones who stand by them through thick and thin, offering unwavering support and unconditional love.

The city official underscored that in this fast-paced world, where destruction abound, it is crucial to recognize the immense value of the family bonds.

She encourages families to engage in regular family meals for them to improve communication, better relationships, and higher emotional well being. An example of the same is spending quality time together, such as engaging in shared activities like cooking, playing games, or going on outings, strengthens the bonds between families and creates lasting memories.

Perez said that also, a family that prays together, stays together as prayer brings families increased peace, love and harmony in the homes aside from the fact that family prayer is also a great way to help younger children develop their own faith in God.

On the other hand, Perez admitted that numerous success stories highlight the pivotal role that family support and encouragement played in achieving goals and that in a world that often emphasizes individual success, it is crucial to remember that their greatest achievements are often rooted in the love and support of their families.

In today’s world, she asserted that it is quite difficult and challenging in trying to maintain a work-life balance, on how to effectively manage responsibilities at both work and home. Employees with balanced work and personal lives experience lower levels of stress, improved physical and mental health and satisfaction.

“We have to establish clear boundaries between work and personal life, such as designating specific personal time for oneself. When we invest in our families, we invest in our own happiness and by prioritizing quality time, communication, we create a positive ripple effect that extends beyond our immediate family members. While some may argue that the demands of work and career leave little time for family, it is essential to strike a balance and recognize the importance of prioritizing family alongside professional commitments. It is in this balance that we can truly experience success and fulfillment in all areas of our lives,” Perez quipped.
