LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Members of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Benguet chapter lauded the uncompromising efforts of Benguet caretaker congressman and Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list Rep. Eri Yap in ensuring the delivery of the fourteen 4×4 medical transport vehicles to the thirteen towns and the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) that will help in providing reliable medical transport for sick individuals from remote villages of the province to the nearest health facility for them to be afforded quality medical attention from the dedicated health workers.
LMP Benguet chapter Secretary-General and Mankayan Mayor Frenzel A. Ayong stated that the gesture of Congressman Yap only shows his sincerity to serve the people of Benguet amidst the continuous criticism from his detractors, saying that no less than the people feel the presence of government with the various projects and services being implemented and provided to the grassroots level.
He claimed that the medical transport vehicles will be useful in attending to the medical transport requirements of people from remote communities which could not be traversed by the ordinary ambulances that had been earlier provided by the government for concerned government agencies and local governments.
Mayor Ayong stipulated that the availability of such medical transport vehicles will definitely be an added boost in the efforts of concerned government agencies and local governments to cater to the medical transport requirements of people from remote villages which could not be reached by ordinary ambulances, thus, the donation from Congressman Yap’s family is timely and appropriate to the existing situation on the ground.
For his part, Mayor Romeo K. Salda underscored that the availability of such kind of medical transport vehicles in the municipalities will solve the problems of people living in far flung communities who cannot be attended by the existing fleet of ambulances, thus, local officials are grateful to Congressman Yap and his family for making such a huge donation to the people of Benguet.
According to him, the presence of such medical transport vehicles will be Congressman Yap’s legacy in helping improve the delivery of health care services to the people, especially those living in remote villages who cannot be served by other ambulances that had been provided by the government.
Tublay Mayor Lauro disclosed that the people of Benguet are lucky to have Congressman Yap as the province’s legislative caretaker because he was able to prove that he is deserving of the support of the people to the implementation of his programs, projects and activities geared towards improving and uplifting the state of development of Benguet so that it will become a first-class province in the future.
