BAGUIO CITY – The National Economic and Development Authority-CAR conducted an in-house orientation on the NEDA Knowledge Management (KM) and Communication and Advocacy (ComAd) on March 6, 2024 in Baguio City. This was followed by a consultation with all members of the NEDA CAR staff to identify the next steps in enhancing the KM systems within the organization and involving everyone in communication and advocacy activities.
In her message, NEDA-CAR Dir. Susan A. Sumbeling encouraged staff to actively participate and apply their learnings in both work and personal life. She urged everyone to participate in the KM institutionalization and support NEDA-CAR’s development communication and advocacy initiatives.
The orientation featured resource persons from the NEDA Central Office-Development Information Staff (DIS). Mr. Paul Cyril D. Torrente, OIC-Information Officer IV of the Knowledge Management Division, presented on NEDA KM, while Mr. Ryan Jose C. Calubad, OIC-Information Officer V of the Public Relations Division, discussed NEDA CommAd.
The session concluded with an open forum covering inquiries on current and proposed productivity platforms such as the Office 365 and Google Workspace, library standards, designation of information officers, promotional guidelines from the Central Office, and potential collaboration with NEDA DIS for training on development communication tools like AVP production and reels, among others.
Mr. Legriv Vilee I. Marquez of the Development Research Division (DRD) presented the proposed KM Institutionalization Plan, emphasizing the importance of everyone’s contribution. Guidelines for presenting the CAR Regional Development Plan 2023-2028 were discussed, ensuring all staff are equipped to be development advocates and communicators. Ms. Marissa M. Cabato then outlined the CAR Regional Development Plan Communication and Advocacy Activities for 2024.
