BONTOC, Mountain Province – Bringing of alcohol beverages, firearms and deadly weapons in public cemeteries in observance of the Undas 2018 is prohibited.
As reiterated by the Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS) during the meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) on October 24, 2018 at Barangay Tocucan, Bontoc.
SPO4 Delis Pakyo, who represented PSI Faith Ayan Igualdo, the Chief of Police of Bontoc MPS appealed to the public to abide with this to ensure peaceful and orderly observance of the All Saints Day and All Souls Day in November 1 and 2, respectively.
He also solicited the support of the members of the council specially the barangay officials to help in informing their constituents that bringing of liquor, firearms and deadly weapons when visiting their departed loved ones in public cemeteries is not allowed. .
For Bontoc, the most crowded public cemetery is located in Barangay Caluttit that serves as public cemetery of the four central barangays to include Caluttit, Poblacion, Samoki and Bontoc Ili.
Meanwhile, other constituents of the four central barangays and other barangays of Bontoc bury their dead family members in public cemeteries, private land properties and/ or communal lands or “tayan”.
