TINGLAYAN, Kalinga – More than P20.9 million worth of marijuana plants were successfully destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during an aggressive anti-illegal drug operations in barangay Ngibat, here, Sunday.
Police authorities said that the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Special Operation Unit-CAR, along with the Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, conducted a marijuana eradication operation in barangay Ngibat, which led to the discovery of two plantation sites planted with approximately 54,500 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of P10,900,000.00.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site while the operatives were conducting an intensive investigation to identify and apprehend possible cultivators. By Dexter A. See
