LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Outgoing Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director General Isidro S. Lapeña made his exit call to personnel of PDEA Cordillera earlier today in a simple program at the PDEA Regional Office at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.
In his valedictory address, Lapeña exhorted the PDEA personnel to maintain integrity and professionalism in their dealings.”Yung mga tama should prevail. Yung mga mali should give up yung kanilang maling pamamaraan,” he added.
Lapeña was able to raise the level of integrity of the agency through internal cleansing and regular visits of regional offices in order to determine the needs of the personnel.
With Lapeña at the helm of the anti-drug campaign in the Philippines, a total of 68,214 anti-drug operations were conducted that led to the arrest of 96,703 drug personalities covering the period July 1, 2016 to July 26,2017.
A total of 2,455.80 kilos of shabu worth 12.66 billion pesos were also confiscated during the same period.
The anti-drug campaign also resulted to the arrest of 327 government employees.
He is set to take his oath as Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs on August 29 where he is expected not only to cleanse its ranks of corruption but also to raise revenues necessary to defray the expenses of the government.
