BOKOD, Benguet – A young man died after he was stabbed by a farmer while inside their room at sitio Bawempeta, Nawal, here, Sunday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Efren Dionisio while the suspect was named as Jailie Berking Teliama, 42, single, farmer, and a resident of Bawenpeta, Nawal, Bokod, Benguet.
Witnesses informed probers that they heard a commotion emanating from the room of the suspect and the victim who had an earlier drinking session.
The suspect was said to be taking to the victim not to repeat what he allegedly earlier did to him while allegedly punching him on the different parts of his body.
Concerned residents shouted at the suspect to stop manhandling the victim and when he did, they saw blood oozing from the different parts of his body due to alleged stab wounds that prompted them to rush him to the Atok District Hospital for medical treatment where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to concerned residents and responding police operatives and is now detained at the Bokod Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of homicide charges against him.
