FLORA, Apayao – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center (FNLGHT) successfully collected 40 units of blood during a bloodletting activity held on April 22 in Flora, Apayao
The event drew participants from diverse backgrounds who voluntarily donated blood, contributing to the goal of maintaining a varied blood supply to assist patients, especially those in critical conditions at the hospital.
This initiative aligns with the Daga Mu Biag Ku program, which aims to ensure a consistent blood inventory in the province. It complements ongoing efforts such as the Vector-Borne Disease Control Program, addressing diseases like Malaria and Dengue fever.
PHO underscored that the importance of such initiatives cannot be emphasized enough, as a reliable blood reserve is essential for timely medical interventions during emergencies and operations.
The office added that regular blood donation drives are pivotal in enabling healthcare facilities to function efficiently and safeguard patients’ lives. By Michelle Acantilado
