SANTA MARCELA, Apayao – The Office on Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPPARU), provided a substantial livelihood aid amounting to P600, 000 to two (2) associations in Santa Marcela at the Santa Marcela Municipal Grounds on May 13, 2024.
Established in 2023, the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP)-Pamana Fund aims to provide support to organized associations, signifying a noteworthy advancement in the area of local economic empowerment.
The Barocboc Sunrise Association and the Nueva SLP Association are the organizations which benefitted from this wonderful endeavor, which works to improve local communities by implementing sustainable livelihood projects.
The grants from the SLP-Pamana Fund are intended to be used for the retail sale of food in specialty stores and the retail sale of components and accessories for automobiles and machinery. A sizable amount of PhP300,000 was given to each association, to support their own livelihood projects.
Roxanne Gay T. Gunaban, Project Development Officer, will lead the implementation of these grants. It is anticipated that the beneficiaries’ lives will improve and change for the better as a result of the use of the funds.
This cash aid comes from the OPPARU, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the municipal government of Santa Marcela, the provincial government, and the barangays.
