LUNA, Apayao – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has been declared the adopted son of Apayao through a provincial resolution by the Apayao Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The proclamation took place during the 36th Cordillera Day commemoration last July 15, where the President was represented by the Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon, Assistant Secretary Ana Carmela Ventura-Remigio.
Officially known as Provincial Resolution No. 108 Series of 2023, titled “A Resolution Declaring His Excellency Ferdinand ‘Bong-Bong’ Romualdez Marcos, Jr. The 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines as Adopted Son and Pamenglan of the Province of Apayao,” the said resolution was presented by Congresswoman Eleonor C. Bulut-Begtang, Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr. and Vice Governor Remy Albano. The resolution received unanimous support from all board members and was likewise approved by Gov. Bulut Jr.
While Pres. Marcos Jr. was originally scheduled to attend the 36th Cordillera Day commemoration, inclement weather conditions prevented his physical presence. Nevertheless, Asec. Ventura-Remigio, graciously received the title on his behalf, acknowledging the honor bestowed upon the President.
The resolution recognizes his exemplary leadership and dedication to public service. President Marcos Jr. has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the Filipino people, particularly those in rural areas. His dedication to advancing regional development, infrastructure projects, and social welfare programs has resonated with the yApayaos and earned him their deep respect and gratitude.
