BAGUIO CITY – The city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) announced the schedule for the enlistment of applicants for the Special Employment of Students (SPES) for this year.
Jose L. Atanacio, Executive Assistant and concurrent PESO Manager, said the enlistment of the first 100 SPES babies is now underway with the PESO office to end on January 13, 207.
The start of the SPES registration will be on January 16, 2017, up to February 28, 2017, while the posting of examination schedules and room assignment will be done on March 2-4, 2017.
There will be three sets of examinees who will take the prescribed examination every two hours on March 5, 2017, while the checking of the exam papers will be done by representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on March 6-7, 2017.
DOLE representatives are mandated to submit the examination results to the city’s PESO on March 8, 2017, while the successful examinees will be posted on the PESO bulletin board on March 9-11, 2017.
All SPES babies and those who successfully passed the examination will undergo the SPES General Orientation by the DOLE and PESO on March 12, 207 at the City Hall multipurpose Hall.
The SPES babies and the successful examinees are required to complete their requirements for the program from March 13-17, 2017 while the final checking and validation of the submitted requirements will be done by the PESO staff on March 22-28, 2017.
On March 29, 2017, PESO will be submitting the complete requirements of the screened 350 SPES grantees to the labor department for further assessment and evaluation scheduled on March 30, 2017.
Atanacio revealed the first batch of SPES grantees will report for work on |April 24, 2017, and that their 30-day work period will end on June 5, 2017.
The SPES grantees are required to submit their daily time record to PESO from June 6-9, 2017 for processing of the required payroll.
From June 13 to July 25, 2017, the second batch of SPES grantees will report for work and render a similar 30-day work period in the different offices of the local government.
Under the SPES law, the local government will shoulder 60 percent of the daily wage of the beneficiaries of the program while the DOLE will provide the remaining 40 percent in the form of education voucher in the name of the school where the beneficiary or grantee is enrolled.
The SPES was established to provide deserving and qualified students to earn income to help pay their school fees during vacation.
