The basic education department is now accepting entries to its annual awards for the best employees of the regional office and division offices as well as for the best public and private schools in the region.
Dubbed this year as SHINE-DepEd CAR or Service with Honor and Integrity-Awards and Incentives for Employees of the Department of Education–Cordillera Administrative Region, the search aims at motivating, distinguishing, and rewarding men and women employees and offices for their exceptional work performance which contribute to achieving DepEd’s vision and mission.
“SHINE-DepEd CAR is our strengthened Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) and in fact, we have put in place comprehensive guidelines and clearer processes or mechanisms on how we implement this,” said officer-in-charge of the Human Resources Development Division (HRDD) Carmel F. Meris.
Meris added they have several award categories for employees at the regional office, schools division offices, and schools, that are up for grabs, such as the Schools Division Office Pinnacle Award, Work Commitment Award for supervisors and non-teaching personnel, Mountain Mover Award to be accorded to exemplary schools, Difference Maker Award for school heads, and Mother Teresa Award for teachers.
Citing Regional Memorandum Number 232, series 2019 as policy basis, Meris likewise expressed DepEd CAR is determined to promote quality performance and commitment to public service among its employees through well-defined forms of awards and incentives that are not limited to monetary awards, trophies, certificates, or plaques.
“This institutionalized search outlines other forms of incentives, like personal growth opportunities, local and foreign scholarship nominations, compensatory overtime credits, and even travel packages,” Meris said.
The policy applies to all teaching and non-teaching employees in public elementary and secondary schools including the Alternative Learning System (ALS), schools division offices, and the regional office, and extends to teaching and teaching-related employees of private basic education institutions.
Deadline of entries is set on October 16 and evaluation of nominees will be until the end of October as per Regional Memorandum No. 243, series 2019.
