Sitel Group®, a global leader in end-to-end customer experience (CX) products, and solutions, recently held fundraising activities to buy and donate essential goods to the Regional Haven for Women and Girls in Baguio City. The shelter, a project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), provides a home and care for women and girls who need special help and attention.
“Sitel® Baguio has always been a proponent of projects that support the various charities in our communities,” shared Eugene Juan, Senior Operations Manager, Sitel Baguio. “We chose to partner with Regional Haven for Women and Girls on the heels of our International Women’s Day celebration this year. We also gathered donations for the Taal volcano evacuees, the orphans of Bethesda Ministries and other various local government and non-government organizations.”
Eugene, along with Rose Ann Lucenio, Workforce Coordinator, Sitel Baguio, brought the team’s donations to the women’s shelter. Donations included bags filled with pajamas, wristwatches, and essential toiletries.
To purchase the donation items, Sitel Baguio raised funds through two Sitel MAX Kapwa fundraising activities. The first was a Silent Art Auction. Six Sitel Baguio associates created paintings to sell online through Sitel Baguio’s social media page. Each painting was auctioned off and proceeds were donated to the fundraising pool.
The second activity, entitled Sweet Relief for Women in Need, sold home-baked goodies on the Sitel Baguio Kabarkada Online Marketplace. The bake sale sold homemade chocolate crinkles, revel bars, brownies, macaroons and cupcakes. Alongside the sweet treats, Sitel Baguio associates also sold savory dishes like smoked ribs, tuna and chicken.
The proceeds of each activity were pooled together and used to purchase donations that were sorted and packed by Sitel Baguio associates. These were then delivered directly to the shelter by Eugene and Rose.
“We’re very happy at how enthusiastically our associates volunteered to take part in these fundraising activities,” Eugene said. “Giving back to the community is an integral part of Sitel Baguio’s culture and it’s wonderful seeing it in action.”
