The Social Security System (SSS) formally opened its branch in La Trinidad, Benguet located at the Ground Floor of Jewel Igorot Bldg., to better serve its members and pensioners from seven municipalities.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora C. Ignacio said the opening of La Trinidad Branch is a long-term commitment of the pension fund to extend its programs and services in response to the rapid membership growth in Northern Luzon, specifically in the Cordillera Region.
“Our main objective for branch expansion is to cover as many workers as possible. Majority of our members here in Cordillera Region are known for their vigor and diligence as top producers of fresh vegetables and colorful flowers that’s why we are very glad we finally have the full capacity to reach out to them,” said Ignacio.
SSS La Trinidad will cover seven municipalities of Benguet namely Atok, Kapangan, Kabayan, Kibungan, Tublay, Bokod, and La Trinidad, known for their agricultural and mining industries.
Categorized as a small branch, SSS La Trinidad offers various SSS services such as issuance of social security (SS) number, employer ID number and certificate of registration; acceptance of contribution and loan payments; receipt of benefit and loan applications. The newly-opened branch will soon issue Unified Multipurpose Identification (UMID) Cards.
SSS La Trinidad will also help decongest SSS Baguio Branch which accepts an average of 10,155 transactions per month based on their July 2019 record.
SSS La Trinidad is the 9th branch under Luzon North 1 Division. Other branches under Luzon North 1 Division are SSS Laoag, SSS Vigan, SSS Candon, SSS Bangued, SSS Bontoc, SSS Baguio, SSS La Union, and SSS Agoo.
