TABUK CITY, Kalinga-The Office for the City Agricultural Services (OFCAS) has called on all farmers here to register under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).
In her guesting for the October 21 episode of ‘Matagoan Weekly’, the radio program of the city government aired over ‘Radyo Pilipinas’, agriculturist Michelle Lumas-i explained that there are still farmers who are not yet enrolled in the RSBSA despite constant reminder.
Lumas-i explained that one of the benefits of farmers being RSBSA-registered is the availment of rice seeds under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) of the Department of Agriculture (DA), along with agriculture-related trainings, access to farm machinery, infrastructure support, and various forms of assistance to include crop insurance.
Also, farmers can gain the different agriculture-related programs and services of the city government through the OFCAS, she added
The agriculturist also said that in Tabuk City, there are more than 9,000 individuals engaged in farming, but not everyone is enrolled in the system.
She reiterated that to enroll, a farmer, farm laborer or farm worker should be at least 18 years old upon registration, and must present valid ID and the filled-out RSBSA form obtained from the OFCAS.
Lumas-i said that enrollment to RSBSA is still ongoing at the OFCAS.
