TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A total of 27 child development workers (CDW) from Tanudan municipality conducted an on-site validation at Dagupan Centro Child Development Center (CDC) today, July 21.
The purpose of this visit is to review the reports, records and accomplishments of Dagupan Centro CDC in preparation for the forthcoming external and internal assessment of Tanudan LGU on child welfare program, according to Gana Gacadan, Social Welfare Officer I of Tanudan Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).
Dagupan Centro CDW was chosen for the on-site visit because the center passed the accreditation from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), has complete learning resources and materials, and has enough number of enrolled learners.
Social Welfare Officer III Marinel Dorgay of the City Social Welfare and Development Office said that there is an exchange of ideas and sharing of resources through this on-site visitation so CDCs would meet the standards set by the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD).
Marjorie Dela Cruz and Grace Dabbay, the CDWs assigned at Dagupan Centro CDC are elated that their center is being considered as a model center. They thanked the visitors for coming over to review their accomplishments, and likewise for the support of the city government given to CDWs.
The two workers are optimistic that all centers will pass the accreditation from DSWD, have plenty of learning resources for the children, and become child-friendly centers in the near future.
