TUBLAY, Benguet – The municipal government extended the extreme enhanced community quarantine in the municipality up to April 30, 2020 to conform with the extended Luzonwide enhanced community quarantine.
Mayor Armando Lauro said that aside from the previous guidelines handed down during the initial stage of the extreme enhanced community quarantine from April 1-14, 2020, part of the prohibited acts in the municipality up to the end of the month will be the selling of chicken dung to lessen the presence of people in public places as the same will defeat the efforts of the government against the spread of the deadly Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
He disclosed that chicken dung traders can directly go to the municipalities and sell the same to farmers as the same had been agreed upon during the recent meeting of the provincial inter-agency task force on the management of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
“ We call on our residents to understand the essence of the implementation of the extreme enhanced community quarantine in our municipality as we do not want any untoward incident to happen that will ruin our efforts in making sure that there will be no COVID-19 cases up to the end of the quarantine period,” Mayor Lauro stressed.
Among the stringent rules that will be implemented in the whole municipality is the imposition of a travel ban to all individuals except for medical services and emergencies going to hospitals, from 8 pm to 5 am daily.
However, he disclosed that the window hours for all establishments to operate will be from 8 am to 3 pm only except for cooperatives, grocery and pharmacies, which will be from 8 am to 5 pm only.
The municipal chief executive underscored that all establishments will be closed on Sundays for people to remain in their residences pursuant to the guidelines issued by the inter-agency task force on the management of emerging and re-emerging diseases but the same will not apply for emergency medical and dialysis purposes.
Lauro asserted that during the declaration of the extreme enhanced community quarantine in the municipality in the next two weeks, there will be a 24-hour liquor ban to prevent people from loitering and drinking.
According to him, the municipal government will be implementing polices, rules and regulations similar to what is being implemented in the different municipalities in the province which was earlier agreed upon by officials during a recent meeting with provincial officials.
Tublay is the passage route in going to the towns of Kapangan and Kibungan along the Acop-Kapangan-Kibungan-Bakun road and Atok, Bakun, Buguias and Mankayan along the Halsema highway.
Mayor Lauro appealed to the residents in the different barangays to cooperate with the implementation of the extreme enhanced community quarantine in the next two weeks to ensure their safety from the deadly virus and to prevent the same from spreading through community transmission.
