BANGUED, Abra October 04 – One of the arrested four suspects in the brutal murder of a high school teacher tagged a punong barangay in Boliney town as the alleged mastermind in the said crime. Police authorities claimed that one of the suspects reportedly identified Dumagas punong barangay Armando Wilson as the one who allegedly paid them to execute the killing of the teacher. Probers are looing into an alleged land dispute as one of the motives behind the teacher’s murder. In the morning of September 28, 2022, Rudy Steward Dugmam Sayen 38, also known as Estee Sayen, was going to Suyo National High School when he was shot at Barangay Licpan, Bangued, Abra. He was rushed to the hospital but later died while being treated. Sayen is a native of Boliney, Abra. Hours later, the police were able to arrest the suspects after a hot pursuit against them. The gunmen were traced with the help of a CCTV footage that captured the incident. They suspects were later identified as Sonny Boy Gandeza Tullas- the driver of the gunman, Aldrin Alagao-a lookout, Abelardo “Abe” Talape- middle man and Romel “Ambong” Paa- the gunman. They admitted that they were offered by the mastermind P100,000.00 to carry-out the crime. All suspects are from Tayum, Abra. The mother of the victim said they were shocked to know that one of their relatives masterminded the killing of the teacher who was on his way to school when he was gunned down by the suspects.
