BANGUED, Abra – A 26-year old man died after he was stabbed on his chest by his older brother during a heated altercation inside their residence at Linasin, Zone 1, here, Monday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Jemnick Palas Pasiguen, 26, married, resident of Linasin, Bangued, Abra and a native of Lagayan, Abra while the suspect was hisolder brother who was named as Mariñas Palas Pasiguen, 30, married and also a resident of same place.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was having a drinking session with his younger brother when the suspect, who was allegedly drunk, arrived home.
After a few moments, a heated altercation suddenly erupted between the duo that prompted the latter to get a kitchen knife and stab the former on his chest before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to the fatal stab wound that he sustained while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered the weapon used by the suspect from the crime scene and is now being kept for evidentiary purposes.
