TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The local government of this city with the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) led the ceremonial ground breaking of seven local access roads amounting to P5.4 million under the bottoms-up-budgeting (BUB) program of the national government.
Seven barangays in the city were identified to benefit from said road concreting program. These include the P600,000.00 road at Purok 3 of Barangay Balong, P600,000.00 for the Quinsaat Road in Ipil, P600,000.00 at Purok 1 in Malalao, P1 million road for Purok 1 in Agbannawag, P600,000.00 at Purok 3 of San Julian, P1 million in Gobgob, and P1 million in Appas.
These road improvement projects were covered under the BUB program approved in 2016.
During a short program at Barangay Malalao, Tabuk City Mayor Ferdinand B. Tubban highlighted the benefits of an improved road for farmers transporting their harvests and products to the commercial centers. With this, he encouraged farmers to take advantage of such government programs focused on alleviating the socio-economic situation of marginalized communities.
The BUB projects were identified as priority projects by the different sectors in the communities. Funding will be directly released to the local governments if good governance conditions are met and public financial management measures are implemented.
