BONTOC, Mountain Province – Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the 10-million-peso worth of project entitled, “Community-Based Swine Production through Clustering and Consolidation Project,” at his office today, July 4, 2023.
The said project is under the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) which aims to recover the community’s capacity to produce sufficient supply of hogs and porks thru calibrated repopulation and enhancement of the local swine industry.
According to the Provincial Veterinary Office, the project will be implemented by theDA-Regional Field Office (RFO) in the Cordillera in partnership with the municipal government and the Dumap-ay Farmers Association of Barangay Alab Proper.
The governor signed the MOA in the presence of the Dumap-ay Farmers Association Vice President Nemia C. Guing-awan, Supervising Aqua-culturist Josephine A. Daowan, and other members of the association.
Other signatories were DA-RFO-CAR Regional Executive Director Cameron P. Odsey, Dumap-ay Farmers Association Vice President Nemia C. Guing-awan, and Bontoc Mayor Jerome B. Tudlong, Jr. as parties and DA-RFO-CAR Livestock Focal Cecilia B. Capuyan, and Provincial Veterinarian Rodelio B. Bagawi, and Municipal Agriculturist Renato Falag-ey as witnesses. By MP Press Release
