PARACELIS, Mountain Province – Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. was adopted as son by barangay Buringal last April 30, 2024.
The governor’s adoption was held during the second day of the 12th Founding Anniversary cum the barangay’s fiesta. He was adopted as son of the barangay via a resolution signed by the barangay officials of Buringal.
As stated in the resolution, barangay Buringal adopted Governor Lacwasan in recognition to all the progress and development brought to them by the Barangay Muna Program of Governor Lacwasan.
“WHEREAS, Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr., a humble, benevolent and hardworking politician of Mountain Province, has a heart full of love for the barangay people. This is explicitly expressed in his mantra “BARANGAY MUNA” with the strong belief that progress and development should start from the grassroots level – the barangay;
WHEREAS, the people of Barangay Buringal have been recipients of various assistance from the Provincial Government through the leadership of Governor Lacwasan and the people treasure such benefits and support;” the resolution states.
Governor Lacwasan was given the name, Lumalindaw in honor of the legendary Ginabwal (Buringal) king/leader belonging to the Ga’dang tribe, who is the most affluent, highly esteemed, and respected leader in the barangay during the olden times.
In his message, Governor Lacwasan expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the community of Buringal for accepting him as their son. He expressed his assurance that he will continue to support his new home barangay towards development through his Barangay Muna Program.
In relation to development, Governor Lacwasan informed that the road project that connects the barangay Buringal of Paracelis to barangay Dunmon of Quezon, Isabela that is funded under the Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Rural Development Project in the amount of P265 million is about 80% complete in complying to all the necessary requirements. Once all requirements are met, the construction will begin.
“Salamat iti daytuy nga panag acceptaer yo kanyak. Haan kayo ag danag ta daytuy Lumalindaw nga nagan nga inpa nagan yo kanyak ket istadiyek daytuy, i research ko no anya nagapuwan na tapnu maging karapat-dapat nga isu ti nagan ko,” the governor ended.
Meanwhile, Councillors Lito B. Basungit and Willy Sinoli, together with Punong Barangay Pilando B. Baguingan, on behalf of the whole community of Buringal, expressed their warm welcome to Governor Lacwasan as a new member of their community. In addition, they were one in relaying their gratitude the governor for the all the developments that his Barangay Muna Program has brought not just in Buringal but also to the other barangays of Paracelis.
