BAGUIO CITY – Some 45,000 residential and commercial consumers will be affected by the 12-hour power blackout that will be implemented by the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) in the city and the nearby town of La Trinidad, Benguet in order to energize its new power substation among other preventive maintenance works on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6 am to 6 pm.
In a recent, advisory, BENECO management cited that the power blackout is expected to be experience in the whole of Baguio City and La Trinidad which will be the primary areas that will be affected by the implementation of its works on its new power substation.
However, the areas that will be exempted from the blackout are Tublay proper

BENECO cited the main reason for the scheduled power interruption are the Energization of the new 50MVA power transformer and Uprating of primary poles along backbone lines.
BENECO called on the public to consider all lines energized as power may be restored earlier than the projected schedule.
