CALANASAN, Apayao – A 27-yeard old mother and her 15-year old son died after their house was buried by a huge landslide triggered by continuous heavy rains at Salagunting, Eva, here, Saturday.
Police authorities identified the fatalities as Mecel Domingo, 27, married; and her 15-year old son MJ Domingo, both residents of Salagunting, Eva, Calanasan, Apayao.
Combined rescuers and police operatives responded to an information that the residence of the victims were buried by a landslide that was triggered by the continuous heavy rains in the area.
The lifeless body of the woman was the first one to be recovered by rescuers while the body of her son was recovered by barangay officials underneath he debris almost twelve hours later.
Probers revealed on the husband was able o survive the unfortunate incident that transpired in their place.
