TUBA, Benguet April – Three persons, including a 10-year old boy, died while three others were injured after a Baguio-bound Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) fell into a 100-deep ravine along the Palispis-Aspiras highway, particularly at barangay Taloy Sur, here, Friday night.
Police authorities identified the fatalities as Jasper Marcuap, driver, Rodolfo Marcuap, father and a 10year old male, all natives of Candelaria, Quezon.
Further, the injured individuals were named as Kristel Marcuap, 38 and two other minors. Probers disclosed that the SUV was bound to Baguio City when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve along the highway that caused the same to plunge into the deep ravine.
Jasper and Rodolfo reportedly died on the spot while the 10-year year old male minor was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).
Responding police personnel and rescuers from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management office (MDRRMO) are still conducting an investigation on the cause of the accident while appropriate coordination is being done with the families of the victims for the transport of the remains of the fatalities to their residence in Quezon.
