LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Rep. Eric Yap announced the upcoming construction of two additional super health centers in the province to ensure the timely delivery of health care services to the people, especially those coming from the remote communities wanting to vail of quality services from government facilities.
The lawmaker said that the two super health centers will be constructed in the capital town and in Itogon to boost the government’s efforts in bringing closer to the people quality health care services that will address the inadequate health facilities in the different parts of the province.
Earlier, a super health center was constructed in Atok to help in boosting the effective and efficient delivery of health care services to the resident seeking appropriate medical attention from health facilities in the municipality.
Yap claimed that the proposed super health centers will be fully equipped with the necessary equipment and machines to ensure that people seeking medical attention from the facilities will be given the necessary treatment for them to recover from their health concerns.
According to him, the presence of well-equipped health facilities in strategic areas in the province will contribute in decongesting the current health facilities in various parts of the province.
One of the major programs of Rep. Yap is to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of health care services to the people by making these services accessible to the people, especially those from the remote communities.
Yap had been instrumental in providing the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) with the needed medical equipment and medicines at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when he was still the province’s legislative caretaker that paved the way for the provincial government-managed health facility to effectively and efficiently cater to the treatment needs of the people afflicted with the deadly virus.
Further, he used his personal funds to put up the BeGH molecular laboratory to facilitate the immediate release of swab test results of patients so that health workers are guided on what interventions to provide the suspected COVID-19 infected individuals.
Yap assured his provincemates that he will continue to source out funds to facilitate the construction of more super health centers in other strategic places for people to have easy access to quality health care services.
Yap underscored that health remains one of his priorities thus his office is closely working with concerned government agencies to allocate more funds for the put up of additional health facilities and provide adequate medical equipment and supplies to sustain the effective and efficient implementation of programs, projects and activities geared towards the welfare of his constituents and others.
