City officials recently congratulated and commended the winners of the 2024 Panagbenga grand street dance and floral float parades that highlighted this year’s staging of the major crowd drawing event.
In separate resolutions, local legislators stated that the winners of the various categories of the twin festival highlights deserve the local government’s profound congratulations for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to actively and artistically participate in the annual Panagbenga festival.
The Panagbenga festival is a month-long celebration held every February 1st to the first week of March annually that serves as the city’s major crowd drawing event and the only festival in the country that is included in the elite list of festivals around the world under the International Festival and Events Association.
Part of the activities of the festival are the grand street dance and grand floral parades that serve as the major highlights of the annual festival.
Winners of this year’s drum and lyre competition are the Lucban Elementary School which garnered the first place followed by the Tuba Central School and Manuel Roxas Elementary School that placed second and third, respectively.
On the other hand, the festival dance category winners are the Tribu Rizal of Rizal, Kalinga which was declared as the grand champion followed by Narvacan Naisangsangayan and the Baguio City National High School–Special Performing Arts in second and third place, respectively.
Zaparita’s Garden collared the first and second places in the small float category while come backing Chowking emerged as the grand champion in the medium float category followed by Procter and Gamble Youthopia in second and third place, respectively.
Pangasinan Solid North Transit Company was declared as the grand champion in the large float category followed by Jollibee Foods Corporation and the State-owned Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) in second and third place, respectively.
