TUBLAY, Benguet – Two alleged notorious drug traders operating in the different of the province were arrested by combined detectives and police operatives during an anti-drug buy bust operation at barangay Ambassador here around 8:30 pm Saturday.
Senior Superintendent Jimmy Catanes, regional commander of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) North Central Luzon Office, identified the arrested wanted drug personalities as Arthur Balange Bogsit, of legal age, a meat vendor and a member of a well-known drug group operating in the province and Timoteo Bayawa Lawangen, of legal age, and a drug personality under the watch list of the Cordillera office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-CAR).
Seized from the suspects during the buy bust operations were four sachets containing some 5.5 grams of shabu having a market value of P33,000 and a Tammaraw Fx owned by Lawangen which is being used in their clandestine operations provincewide.
Bogsit is reportedly using his meat stall as a front in the conduct of the illegal drug trade to their customers coming from different parts of the province.
Charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law of 2002, particularly sale and possession of prohibited drugs, are now being prepared for fling against the suspects who are now temporarily detained at the Benguet provincial jail awaiting the resolution of the provincial prosecutor’s office on the charges filed against them.
