LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Two notorious drug traders supplying prohibited drugs in the vegetable trading post were successfully arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during an anti—illegal drug operation in the capital town Wednesday night.
Juvenal Azurin, regional director of the Cordillera office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-CAR), identified the notorious drug suppliers as Panda Tambaliwan Riga alias Ngongo and Dimal Tamawi Dimala alias Aga/Maki, who are alleged members of a drug syndicate supplying prohibited drugs within the vegetable trading post as well as the source of shabu for drivers in the different parts of the province.
Confiscated from their possession were seven sachets of shabu weighing 33.7999 grams with a total market value of P84,000, the buy bust money amounting to P54,000, a mobile phone used in their transactions and a white Toyota Fortuner bearing license plate number AKA-6453.
Azurin revealed the two notorious drug traders are described to be major players in the illegal drug industry and have concentrated their trade within the vegetable trading post supplying the shabu needs of farmers and drivers.
The suspects are now detained at the PDEA-CAR headquarters in Camp Dangwa undergoing proper documentation while charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law are being readied for filing against them before the Benguet provincial prosecutor’s office.
Azurin declined to divulge the notorious drug group where the suspects belong considering the continuous conduct of follow-up operations in order to neutralize their operations and reduce the illegal drug supply being circulated in the municipality.
