TABUK CITY, Kalinga – To improve the level of well- being and quality of life of its program beneficiaries, the Department of Social Welfare and Development- Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) gave 33 food carts to barangays Dupag, Bagumbayan, Bulanao and Bulanao Centro on February 9, 2017.
According to Macfarlyne Bumosao, project development officer II- DSWD-CAR, prior to the turn over ceremony, a skills training on food cart business on February 7-8 was given by Ashas Enterprises Manila to equip beneficiaries with knowledge on how to operate a food cart business.
Bumosao said that a total of 50 individuals, most of which are Pantawid Program recipients were benefitted by the livelihood opportunity. He added that each food cart has a burger cooking machine and food preparation utensils.
The activity dubbed as Ribbon Cutting and Turnover Ceremony of Food Carts was attended by employees from the city government and barangay.
On a similar report, 23 family- beneficiaries in Bulo were assisted through a skills training on tilapia production on February 3-5.
