4th Bulado Cup Winners Level-Up

BAGUIO CITY – Winners of the close to 80 pairs of Men, Women, and Mixed Doubles badminton enthusiasts from badminton clubs in Baguio, Benguet and nearby provinces smashed it out in the 4th Bulado Cup Badminton Invitational last Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the YMCA Gymnasium, here.

Adrian and Mac-mac Banaag dominated the Men’s Doubles Level “A” event of the corporate level tournament while Emerson Manabat and Norman Elpa took second place. The tandem of Timothy Lee and Jhonson Cea of the YMCA took 1st place, while Russel Ramos and Adrian Salindong of La Union rested second place for the Men’s Doubles, Level “C”. Men’s Doubles Level “D” winners were; Lendon Sison and Don Delos Santos, 1st Place, while Marcial Dumalan and Lito Gonzales of PHILEX came in second place.

The Women’s Doubles Category was dominated by Level “A” tandem of Chesca Alfonso and Chastine Dela Cruz of the YMCA Badminton Club, 1st place. In 2nd Place was the pair of Nica and Erma. Level “B” was ruled by Team Ragsak tandem Charity Fuentespina and Mercy Oania while Judith Beldad and Gen Arsenio came in 2nd Place.

Level “C” was dominated by the YMCA Badminton Club pair of Jinky Dumalan and Liezel Fabiculanan. 2nd Place went to the team of Sheryl Sagnep and Eleanor Dabucol. YMCA’s Chona Cirilo and Jo Bulado also held on the 1st Place while teammates Rowena Bautista and Cheryl Joven were 2nd place for Level “D”. Vanessa Pacito and Dhave Bucayan of team Ragsak took 1st place while YMCA’s Fe Bartolome and Michelle Ibag landed 2nd place for Level “E” in the tournament.

In the Mixed Doubles Category, Level “A” pair of Macmac Banaag and Erma Gallardo took 1st place, while Sai Balanag and Jeff Sumentac came in 2nd Place. Likewise, Pangasinan Badminton Club tandem of Jhong Carr and Jam took 1st place for Level “B” over Philip Malto and Rose Balingit who settled for the 2nd Place.

Level “C” which was ruled by Pangasinan Badminton Club had Jun Benitez and Diane Mercado while teammates Luis Lorenzana and Regine Pasion took 2nd Place. 1st place winners Mary Ann Mabalot and Bryle Velasquez, shared the winnings with Joh Malana and Greg Dali of the YMCA Badminton Club in Level “D” and 1st Place Winners Jerilyn Malado and Edgar Sapigao and 2nd Place tandem of Rose Flores and Luis Bambao of the YMCA Badminton Club shared Level “E” honors.

Cash, trophies, and certificates of merit were given to winners. Door prizes in the raffle draw were also given away as well as certificate of participation and T-shirts to all participants.

The tournament was sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Francis and Jo Bulado with co-sponsors YMCA-Kaitagi Judo Club, Congressman Mark Go, Councilor Michael Lawana, Bodega Badminton Pangasinan, Tim and Theressa Lee, Europa Auto Parts, Erick Basto, Mary Ann Velo, Jong Carr, Fe Bartolome, among others.
