PUDTOL, Apayao – 75 yApayao beneficiaries of the TESDA scholarship program were given P174,000.00 allowance as they embark on finishing their Organic Agriculture Production NC II course.
50 of the beneficiaries are from Puputi Nature’s Farm and 25 from Agro-Exo Tourism Farm representing diverse background including under unemployed group, Indigenous people (IP’s) out-of-school youth (OSY’s).
With Director Glenn N. Murphy and the special disbursing officer, Ms. Carmelita B. Del Mundo, the training allowance was recently given on November 8, 2023, at Barangay Cacallagan and Swan, Pudtol, Apayao.
The scholarship, falling under the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP) in Organic Agriculture Production NC II, provides a daily benefit of PHP 160 throughout the 29-day training period, with disbursement occurring in two installments — 50% at the beginning and 50% upon completion, minus any absences.
Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP), established through R.A. No. 11230, focuses on innovative TVET approaches linked to industry needs, addressing unemployment and job-skill mismatch. It continues to uplift existing workers by enhancing their skills, opening doors to new workplace opportunities.
Meantime, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang for her unending support on TESDA programs and to the livelihood projects of the people of Apayao. By M. Acantilado
