CONNER, Apayao – A total of 89 trainees have received essential toolkits to support their learning and development in various technical skills in an awarding ceremony held on March 19, at the Provincial Training Center (PTC), Malama, Conner.
This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Apayao Training Center, and PTC-Apayao.
The distribution of these starter toolkits took place during the Special Training for Employment (STEP) sessions for Tile Setting NCII, Masonry NCII, and Electrical Installation Management II (EIM NCII).
The toolkits include items such as an Angle grinder, Spirit level bar, manual tile cutter, rubber mallet (for Tile Setting trainees), chalk line reel, crowbar, claw hammer, shovel (rectangular and round end), and cordless drill (for Masonry NCI and Electrical Installation Management NCII).
Funding for this scholarship initiative was provided by Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang through TESDA’s Special Training for Employment Program (STEP). This program not only offers participants free training and assessments but also provides training support funds and starter toolkits to equip them for success.
Under the STEP within Tile Setting NCII, Masonry NCI, and Electrical Installation Management II (EIM NCII), scholars receive a daily benefit of PHP160. This benefit is disbursed in two installments 50% at the beginning and 50% upon completion, with deductions for any absences.
The STEP program stands as an opportunity for granting deserving beneficiaries access to high-quality technical education and training, empowering them for future employment and success. By PIO Apayao
