TABUK CITY, Kalinga November 22 – A man was injured after he was stabbed by a co-rice mill worker during a drinking session inside their workplace at Purok 4, Bulanao, here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Elmer Rosa, legal age, single, employed at CJC rice mill, and presently residing at Purok 3, Bulanao, Tabuk City while the suspect was named as Roy Chaluping Faniker, 27 years old, single, also employed at CJC rice mill and a resident of Malleda, Ipil, Tabuk city, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect had a drinking session inside their workplace when a heated altercation between them cropped up that resulted to a fistfight.
During the commotion, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times on the upper portion of his body but the latter was able to elude further injuries.
The victim was rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and is now detained at the Tabuk city Police Office awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
