TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 45-year old farm caretaker died after he was shot by a fellow caretaker inside a farm at Callagdao, Bulanao, here, Tuesday night.
Police authorities identified the fatality as individual as Joe Dugyawe, 45, married and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Gobgob, Tabuk City, Kalinga while the suspect was named as Sylvestre Camiso, of legal age, married and resident of Banneng, Callaccad, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim, together with his fellow caretakers that included the suspect, had a drinking session in the farm which they had been employed when the victim decided to accompany their new caretakers for dinner inside their barracks.
However, the suspect followed him inside the barracks and insisted that they continue drinking but the victim hindered him from getting another bottle before going out to avoid further altercation.
The suspect followed the victim outside and without any apparent reason shot him on his shoulder with a still undisclosed firearm before fleeing the crime scene passing through the gate of the farm.
The victim instantly died after the incident while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation for him to answer for the crime he committed.
Recovered by responding police personnel from the crime scene were several spent shells of an Armalite rifle that was used in the perpetration of the crime.
