In another round of continuous anti-illegal drug operations from February 6 to 13, 2021, over 21.5M worth of marijuana plants were destroyed in different plantation sites in Benguet and Kalinga.
In Bakun, operatives of Benguet PPO has uprooted and burned more or less 91,500 pieces fully grown marijuana plants with a total estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 18,300, 000.00.
Meanwhile, in Kibungan, more or less 7,070 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants, 1,050 pieces of marijuana seedlings and three kilos of dried marijuana stalks with a total estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php 1,816,000.00 were burned by the operatives of Benguet PPO.
In Kalinga, operatives of Kalinga PPO also uprooted more or less 7,400 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with a total estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 1,480,000.00.
With the destruction of the said marijuana plants, PROCOR has now destroyed a total of Php 21,596,000.00 from February 1, 2020 to present time.
Aside from marijuana eradication, series of buy-bust operations conducted by the different units of PROCOR resulted to the arrest of ten drug personalities.
Meanwhile, five drug personalities were arrested by the operatives of Baguio City Police Office in a series of anti-illegal drug operations. three in Kalinga by the Kalinga PPO, and two in Benguet by the Benguet PPO.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges for Violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PROCOR RPIO)
