LA TRINIDAD, Benguet April 11 – Some tow thousand seven hundred sixty eight police officers will be deployed by the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera in strategic areas around the region to ensure the safety of motorists and travelers during the summer vacation as part of the government’s Ligtas Sumvac program.
Of the 2,768 PROCOR cops deployed, 344 personnel are deployed in places of convergence; 16 personnel in Transportation Hubs & Terminals; and 226 police officers are deployed for target hardening.
In line with Project TALYER (Traffic Assistance to Level Up and Yield Efficient Results), 2,271 police officers are deployed as Route Security along major roads leading to the different parts of the region, especially in well known tourist destinations such as Baguio city; La Trinidad, Benguet; Saggada, Mountain Province; Banaue, Ifugao among others.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,463 force multipliers and community-based volunteer groups will be giving their assistance to heighten security measures this summer season.
Police officials assured the readiness of the region’s police force during the summer vacation to ensure that law and order will be maintained for the benefit of the residents and tourists alike.
The deployment of the police personnel will last until the end of May or depending on the prevailing situation in the different parts of the region so that the safety of motorists and travelers will be ensured, especially with the onset of the upcoming May 9, 2022 synchronized national and local elections.
