BONTOC, Mountain Province – One passenger was injured in a Vehicular Traffic Accident along Bontoc-Banaue Road particularly at Sitio Faniyas, Samoki, Bontoc, Mountain Province recently.
Upon receipt of the call, the Bontoc Emergency Response Team (BERT), personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and Bontoc Municipal Police Station (BMPS) proceeded immediately to the site and came upon two vehicles that had a head on collision.
The blue passenger jeepney driven by Mr. Asher Raven Ngallawen was bound to Talubin, Bontoc while the White Mitsubishi L300 vehicle driven by Mr. Ariel Enriquez, resident of Alicia, Isabela was on its way to Poblacion, Bontoc.
As a result of the collision, one female passenger identified as Monaliza Dohyog, 28 years old, single, and a resident of Banaue, Ifugao who was at the front passenger side of the white Mitsubishi vehicle was injured due to the impact of the collision.
She was managed on site prior to her referral at the Bontoc General Hospital. Meanwhile, the 13 passengers of the blue jeepney were unharmed.
As of this writing, the injured victim is still admitted at the BoGH for further medical observation with her physician’s working diagnosis as Musculoskeletal Strain to rule out fracture on the right arm.
Meanwhile, Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., who chairs the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reiterates his call for all motorists to observe road safety measures and always drive defensively.
Likewise, MDRMM Officer Johanna Padaen reminded the public to check their BLOWBAGETS (battery, lights, oil, water, brake, air, gas, engine, tire, and self) for everyone’s safety.
