BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – In celebration of Baguio City’s Panagbenga Festival, Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI)—the bottling arm of Coca-Cola in the country—brings Tapon to Ipon: Basta Klaro, Panalo! program to the people of Baguio City. Tapon to Ipon is CCBPI’s nationwide collection program for post-consumer clear PET plastic bottles.
Festival-goers can drop off their used clear PET plastic bottles of any brand in exchange for Coca-Cola products at the Tapon to Ipon booth located at the Melvin Jones Grandstand, Baguio City. The pop-up booth will run from February 23 to 25, 2024. Through this initiative, CCBPI aims to uphold waste-free festival celebrations and foster a culture of responsible waste management.
All collected bottles will be diverted to PETValue Philippines, the first bottle-to-bottle recycling facility in the Philippines. PETValue PH, located in General Trias, Cavite, is a joint venture of CCBPI with Indorama Ventures, a global sustainable chemical company. It employs the safest and most advanced bottle-to-bottle recycling technology that transforms used clear PET plastic bottles into new food-grade beverage packaging.
Coca-Cola is driven to reach more communities and work with more partners to achieve its World Without Waste vision.
