TABUK CITY, Kalinga – During his field visit to the “Class Alpha Bukaw” Air Force Reserve, LTC Paul Fudotan, OIC of the 2nd Air Force Wing Reserve, praised the volunteers for their bravery and patriotism.
“Your commitment to serve our country, above and beyond your civilian responsibilities is truly commendable,” he said.
Fudotan continued saying that though their civilian lives demand their utmost focus, they still answered the call of duty and are always ready whenever their services are required.
“This dedication to both your community and your country is a testament to your character and patriotism,” he said.
The Wing Commander then said that they play a vital role in the nation’s defense and that their skills and experiences are assets to ensure a strong and prepared military.
Further, he said that the time they sacrificed during their trainings and the potential to be deployed and could be separated from their work and families are not unnoticed, and that it deserves their deepest respect and appreciation.
Lastly, Fudotan said that their dedication and expertise will be crucial to the Armed Forces and that they will be relying on the reservists’ flexibility and adaptability to respond to whatever situation that may arise.
Representing Governor James Edduba, Atty. Zoraida Wacnang said that the governor extends his gratitude for the volunteers and is moved by their dedication.
“Your presence here speaks volumes about your unwavering resolve to serve our nation with honor and distinction,” his message said.
Wacnang added that they are not merely building an organization but are forging a community bound by a common purpose, which is to safeguard the freedom and values of the people.
“As yKalinga, we inherit a legacy of patriotism and service, traits deeply embedded in our heritage. Our forebears have shown time and again their unwavering love for our motherland, their readiness to defend its sovereignty, and their commitment to the greater good.
This inherent spirit of selflessness and dedication continues to define us today,” the message said.
The sentiment is also shared by City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, who through his representative Enrique Baliang, said that the city government is thankful for their service and that they know that when they need help, especially during calamities, they can count on the volunteers.
He then said that soon, maybe some of them plan to become active and that he hopes that there will be more trainings so they can be qualified. By Edward Joseph Gacuya
