BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – – Moderate to heavy flow of traffic, especially during weekends, due to the influx of tourists is already being felt here in the summer capital and with the declared holidays that will make longer weekends starting next week more Baguio visitors are expected to spent their Christmas vacation here.
Given the scenario, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) is already focusing on the convenient and safe stay of visitors this yuletide season.
BCPO Director PSSupt. Rolando Miranda, in a recent Kapihan media forum here, affirmed that they are already in full alert this yuletide season, wherein BCPO personnel are already not allowed to take a day off, especially on weekends – Friday to Sunday.
Miranda also discloses that police, along with K-9 dogs are already posted on bus terminals and to the various tourist destinations here in Baguio.
Personnel from the Air Force Tactical Operations Group at the Loacan airport will also augment the BCPO in keeping the tourist safe, he added.
For any peace and order concern, Miranda also advises the public to report it to BCPO at cellphone number 09175758993 or personally txt him at 09178281990, so that they can immidately take actions.
On traffic concern, Miranda also discloses that he is already talking with private schools, colleges and universities in Baguio, in opening up their grounds as parking space for tourists during weekends and holidays.
To clear up road obstructions, he also affirmed that they are strictly implementing regulations on city road networks where parking is prohibited, as well as the city ordinance against roadside or mobile vending.
Meantime, major bus companies in Baguio also already confirmed an almost fully book reservation going in and out of Baguio. (CCD – PIA CAR)
