BAGUIO CITY – A notorious drug trader under the watchlist of law enforcement agencies was arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a buy-bust operation along 1st Road, Quezon Hill Tuesday night.
Police authorities identified the arrested drug trader as Junior Abucay Ortiz, of legal age and a member of the Ibarra drug group operating not only in the city but also in the other parts of Benguet and the lowlands.
Seized from the drug trader’s possession were a sachet containing 21 grams of shabu, a mobile phone used in the transaction, P1,000 buddle money and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was subsequently detained at the Baguio City jail while the seized drugs were brought to the PNP crime laboratory for the conduct of appropriate tests.
Charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law are now being readied for filing against the arrested drug trader.
