LA TRINIDAD, Benguet December 15 – A 3-day old baby boy was kidnapped by a still unidentified mask-wearing female who introduced herself to the parents of the child as a doctor inside the charity ward of the Benguet General Hospital (BeGH), here, Tuesday afternoon.
Police identified the kidnap victim as John Miller Vicente, 3 days old, and the only boy among four children of the spouses Vicente who hail from Ambassador, Tublay and Catlubong, Buguias, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the suspect entered the ward and introduced herself to the victim’s father, Jose Antonio Vicente, 41, a native of Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet and requested that she will take the child for him to undergo weighing among other regular routine check-ups.
After few minutes, the parents of the child were alarmed considering that the suspect, who introduced herself as Dra. Ramos, did not return the child that prompted them to look for the child but their efforts were in vain.
Based on the CCTV footages that were taken from the hospital, the suspect allegedly came out from the ward and immediately proceeded to the exit door carrying two bags, one of which was used to hid the child, and proceeded outside, then boarded a taxi.
Probers theorized that the suspect used one of the bags to hide the child from the sight of the security guards on duty and succeeded in carting the young boy.
Parents and relatives of the kidnap victim appealed to the kidnapper to return the child and for witnesses to help in the immediate identification of the abductor for her to be arrested and charged for kidnapping.
