Mayor Benjamin Magalong is keen on inviting Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo Puyat to visit the Irisan Eco-Park on September 2 for the latter to see the improvements done so far on the city’s former garbage dump site.
The Mayor expressed the possibility during the regular management committee meeting of local officials, August 24, at Baguio Convention Center.
He said the last time Sec. Puyat visited the area, it has not yet undergone major improvements and rehabilitation efforts spearheaded by the City Environment Parks and Management Office.
The Tourism Secretary is expected to grace the 112th Baguio Day Celebration as a Chartered City on September 1 with the theme, “Moving Forward As One”.
The Mayor said he will also ask the Tourism chief to help the city request King Louis Farms, a nationwide supplier of potted plants and cutflowers whose farms are located in Baguio and Benguet province, to support the ongoing development and beautification of the area.
Sec. Puyat is a frequent Baguio visitor whose late husband was a relative of the prestigious agricultural enterprise’s owner, Vicente Puyat.
