LUNA, Apayao – Calanasan reclaimed the prestigious Dayag ti Apayao title after a hiatus of 13 years, marking a triumphant return to the forefront of the pageant scene in the province this 2024.
The reigning Dam-ag Naya Calanasan Lei Gertrude Avryl Balanay Ravelo was crowned as the Dayag ti Apayao 2024 during the Grand Coronation Night held at the Apayao Eco-Tourism and Sports Complex on February 13.
Ravelo’s brilliant performance was adorned with numerous accolades, including Best in Casual Attire, Best in Production Performance, Best in Creative Attire, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Talent, Ms. Photogenic, Best in Formal Attire, Ms. Articulate, Ms. Catwalk, Darling of the Crowd, Dayag ti PCL Award, and Ms. CT Ruiz Optical Clinic Award.
Following in the footsteps of her aunt, Atty. Maria Elena Teresa Ravelo, who secured the Dayag ti Apayao title in 2011, Lei Gertrude Ravelo has carved her name in the history of Apayao, upholding a tradition of excellence and elegance of the Ravelo clan.
In addition to the triumph of Dayag ti Apayao, Luna proudly celebrated the crowning of John Patrick Pena as the inaugural Taer ti Apayao, echoing its tagline “Luna Umuna.” Pena’s victory was further accentuated with the Best in Production award and Most Articulate award, signifying Luna’s ascent as a notable presence in the pageant arena.
Meanwhile, Ms. Conner secured the first runner-up position and Ms. Kabugao claimed the second runner-up spot for the Dayag. In the Taer, Mr. Santa Marcela and Mr. Kabugao respectively clinched the titles of first and second runner-up. By PIO Apayao
