BARLIG, Mt. Province: A Resolution recognizing the Junior Pulis as an innovative plan and force multipliers advocating peace and order in this town was passed recently. It was a joint motion by the municipal advisory council, peace and order council and the anti-drug council under the auspices of the Barlig Municipal Police Station.
The Junior Police concept began in actual practice in 2015 at Kadaclan National High School, a 60 kms. distance from the capital town of Bontoc. Trainings were patterned to national police discipline. The program clicked assisting school policy of curving out juvenile delinquents, helping during calamities, tapped as models in the municipality’s “Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo”(KKDAT).
In a conversation with police woman Lalaine Almeda she commented the “Barlig has no youth to ever join the terrorist movement neither on a drug list”. Resolution was signed by PLT Morris Pangket Nay-osan, Barlig MPS Officer In Charg, Mayor Clark Chatongna Ngaya duly attested by NUP Angelo Vicente, Secretariat.
In the same manner, municipal vice mayor David Osborn Fomocod with Sangguniang Bayan Members promulgated a unanimous resolution adapting the PNP design strongly indorsing the imperative role of Junior Police as a success story put into practice that bore-out fruits of good deeds.
Last Monday, Provincial Police Officers Bumahit and Olawan visited Barlig in a meeting with LGU-SB members that proved outrightly positive results of approval. They proceeded to remote Kadaclan to interview teachers and students who are Junior Police members verified documentation.
“Ammay challo nu maesorwan hen ongong-a hen kaap-owan ay ukali ta matanchowan”. (It is always a good practice to train out children by their ancestors peaceful culture to be susutained) advised by an indigenous heaad of the council of elders.
In another development, Chupac Baranggay Captain Benedicto Nabunat sponsored a resolution “Declaring the CPP/NDF/NPA and other terrorist groups as ‘persona non-grata’ in his jurisdiction “here. Based on the Ececutive Order 70 by President Duterte (NTF) To End Communist Armed Conflict), it shall encourage young policemen to serve in government. “This is to safeguard our children through consisted campaign-education on the disadvantages in joining the movement. They should not be misled when they are away from their parents while acquiring a skill or degree,” Nabunat said.
Similarly, Antonio Bugatti- Lunas Punong Baranggay spearheaded an ordinance “:Banning the presence and activities of the CPP/NDF/NPA and other lawless elements” in his area. “We wanted to promote tourisms for investment potential leading to our peoples’ prosperity. We can only do these, when there is respect of culture, law-abiding folks where peace and tranquility exist,” the council ordinance stated.
