The Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) girls’ varsity recently netted the 2014 YMCA Inter School Girls Basketball tilt over a seven man team Guisad Valley High School (GVHS) girls’ varsity on the finals, 74 – 37 to claim the championship for the girls division. Meanwhile Saint Louis Aurora Hill Girls Varsity (SLAH) outlasted Saint Louis Laboratory High School girls varsity in a tight defensive match 21-34 on their final game, to claim third place.
On the other hand, Berkeley High School Boys’ developmental team outlasted debuting Baguio Central University (BCU) High School boys’ developmental team, 69-64 to land third place. The favored University of the Cordilleras Grade School High School (UCGSHS) boys’ developmental team bowed to the Saint Louis University Laboratory High School developmental team, 93-81, for the YMCA Inter School boys’ developmental team division the crown.
Guisad Valley’s Janine Orca is leading the statistics for the best player award for the girls division while SLU-LHS’s Lyndon Matbagan leads for the boys’ developmental team division. The National Amateur Basketball Referees Organization (NABRO) is officiating the annual YMCA Inter School Basketball League under the headship of Mr. Sotero “Terry” Mendoza Jr.
