BESAO, Mountain Province – Mayor-elect Bryne Bacwaden wants to sustain the implementation of more locally-funded infrastructure projects that will contribute in enhancing inter-barangay and inter-municipal road networks that will spur economic activities beneficial in improving the sources of livelihood of the people.
Bacwaden, who was voted by majority of the town’s electorate as the incoming local chief executive, stated that aside from improving the current state of the infrastructure in the locality, it is also important to work for the development of potential tourist destinations and agriculture to provide alternative sources of livelihood for the residents.
Bacwaden will be taking over the leadership of the municipality from two-term Mayor Johnson Bantog II, who was elected by the voters in the province’s second district as the top provincial board member, by noon of June 30, 2022.
The incoming mayor claimed his administration will focus on the establishment of linkages with the government and the private sectors for the inclusion of the municipality in the planning, conceptualization, identification and implementation of programs, projects and activities beneficial to the residents, especially in improving the current state of the town’s infrastructure and the delivery of quality basic services to the majority of his constituents.
Besao is one of the fifth-class municipalities in the province that is located in the western part near the remote towns of Quirino, Ilocos Sur and Tuba, Abra.
Bacwaden expressed his gratitude to the people of the municipality for bestowing on him their trust and confidence to be the next mayor and he will try his best to reciprocate the said trust with unwavering and uncompromising service geared towards the growth and progress of the locality.
According to him, the present administration wisely utilized the limited development funds for the opening and improvement of barangay roads that inter-connect the different barangays and it is also important to ensure the continuity of these projects that will significantly improve the condition of the said roads to allow residents to conveniently travel to and from their places of origin.
Bacwaden appealed to the residents of the town’s 14 barangays to support the programs, projects and activities to be lined up by his incoming administration to sustain the growth and progress of the municipality and elevate it to a higher level with the delivery of quality basic services and the implementation of development projects.
He assured that his administration will be consulting with the concerned stakeholders to elicit suggestions and recommendations on how to sustain the growth and progress of the municipality to be included in the municipal government’s development agenda as a demonstration of the practice of good governance with the participation of the people as a key principle.
